CHELSEA 1997/98

Chelsea had just the 5 figures released for the 1997/98 season, all painted in the new kit which had a yellow and white trim and featured the new sponsorship logo, which was Auto Glass.

Ruud Gullit was released again but this time sculpted wearing a suit as he was the club manager at this time. The facial sculpt for the Gullit was the same as previously released.

The set also featured a re-release of the Vialli figure, this was the exact same sculpt which was released previously in the 1995/96.

Also included were 3 all new sculpts. The Italian duo of Roberto Di Matteo and Gianfranco Zola were released by Corinthian for the very first time and both were great sculpts. The Di Matteo captured the players features perfectly and the Zola like wise was a fine sculpt, not too mention life size! Both of these figures were released shortly after in the Italian National kit, again as part of the Headliners range.

Completing this line up was French international Frank LeBoeuf who was sculpted with a huge forehead and beaming grin. This Le Boeuf sculpt was used for all subsequent Corinthian releases of the player.

All figures were released as a single blister pack, coming with collector cards and a collectors information file.
