NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1996/97

Nottingham Forest had 12 figures released in the 1996/97 kit, a3 of these figures were previously released in the 95/96 kit those being Mark Crossley, Steve Stone and Bryan Roy, with Crossley being in a bright Orange kit. This time Stuart 'psycho' Pearce was released, after he was pulled from the 1995/96 range. The other 8 had never been released before nor have been since!

The set also featured one of the rarest FAPL figures ever made, Andrea Silenzi. Silenzi was not produced in great volume and your best bet of acquiring one was by buying the 12 player pack, as finding a blister has always been a hard task.

Continuing with the eccentric hair styles we move onto Scott Gemmill, what a perm he had too, the figures of Ian Woan and Bart-Williams were also both 1st time sculpts but are the more readily available of these Forest figures.

The figures of Cooper, Chettle and Philips are not far behind Silenzi in the rarity stakes and have proven to be very elusive, possibly due to their lack of popularity amongst collectors and the low production volumes, with blister pack versions proving quite elusive.

Kevin Campbell completes the set and is my personal favourite of all the Nottingham Forest figures. the reason being it is a really fine sculpt with lots of detail and character, not to mention the goatee which even had a 'rough' feel to it, a superb figure and i have always considered his blister pack to be rarer to find than Silenzi

To summarise the Nottingham Forest figures are a really great set with many 1st time sculpts, most of which were never released again, certainly worth adding to your collection if you have not already done so.
