Borussia Mönchengladbach

Corinthian released a total of 6 Borussia Monchengladbach figures as part of the Star Kickers range of Headliners, with all 6 being first time sculpts and would never be released by Corinthian again.

This really is a fine set of sculpts and is the only Corinthian figure that exists of Steffen Effenberg and for that reason he has always been the most sought after of the set, with many wanting the figure to re paint into a Bayern Munich kit, which only serves to make the Borussia Monchengladbach version more expensive and rare.

A personal favourite of mine, well 2 actually, are Uwe Kamps and Christian Hochstatter. The sculpt of Kamps is almost unique in the entire Corinthian range, reason being he is sculpted wearing an ear ring, only one other Corinthian figure would be done wearing jewellery, which is Lars Ricken for Borussia Dortmund, also part of the Star Kickers range.

Christian Hochstatter really does lend credence to the nick name for these figures as 'Big Heads' his facial sculpt is massive and rivals even that of name sake Christian Karembeu!

All 6 were done as single blister packs which came with collectors card and information file, there was also a 4 figure pack done which contained Effenberg, Pettersson, Andersson & Kamps.

In terms of rarity they are along the same lines as the 1860 Munich and Werder Bremen ones, in that very seldom do they appear but they do not command the same sort of money that a Stroppa or Gijon figure can.
