Rangers had a total of 9 figures released in the SFL Collection ,second in amount only to bitter rivals Celtic.

We were again treated to many first time sculpts, in fact only Gascoigne was a repaint, the rest were brand new figures and all except for Brian Laudrup have never been released again by Corinthian.

The line up for this release is Richard Gough, Paul Gascoige, Brian Laudrup, Stuart McCall, David Robertson, Ian Durrant, Trevor Steven, Gordon Durie and Ian Ferguson.

Gascoigne, Laudrup, McCall and Durrant were released in February 1996, with Gough coming out in June, while the other 4 of Robertson, Steven, Durie and Ferguson being released in June.

There was something very unusual about this set and that is the squad numbers, Both Gascoigne and Durrant were released with number 8 on the back of their shirt, while it was not unheard of for Corinthian to change squad numbers during a series release, they did this a few times in a bid to keep the figures up to date, however these two figures were released at the same time in February 1996 during the same season of course so i am at a loss as to why two players were released with the same squad number, what is more perplexing is that Durrant wore the number 12 shirt for the 1995/96 season and changed it to 14 for the 1996/97 season, so it leaves me to believe Durrant wearing number was simply a production error.

There was another number discrepancy in this set, both Stuart McCall and Trevor Steven were released wearing the number 7 shirt. McCall was released first in February 1996 with Steven a little while later in June of that year. McCall wore the number 5 shirt for the 1995/96 season and then changed to number 7 for the 1996/97 season, while from the information i have it looks as though Steven wore the number 22 shirt while at Rangers, so again i can only chalk this up to a production error.

It can be a little tricky to pick up Durie, Ferguson and Gough, their blisters can be relatively scarce, as can both versions of the 4 pack.

All 9 were released as single blisters with collector card and information file, with 2 different versions of a 4 figure pack also being released, with the initial release date for the 4 packs being October of 1996.
