DENMARK NATIONAL

June 1998 saw a stunning set of Danish national kit Headliner figures released, with Corinthian teaming up with McDonalds to produce the series. The figures were given away in McDonalds restaurants in their version of the 'Happy Meal' with the figures being in clear sachets, no collector cards, just a piece of card which showed all 12 figures available, with the names on the reverse.

The level of sculpting was of the very highest and many of the range would never again be released by Corinthian in any form. Jes Hogh, Jan Heintze, Thomas Helveg, Allan Nielsen, Soren Colding, Michael Schjonberg, Per Frandsen and Mikkel Beck were all first time sculpts and would all never again be released by Corinthian.

Marc Riper would be released for West Ham United as part of the FAPL Collection, however it would be an entirely new sculpt. Peter Schmeichel had a wonderful kit replication and for me is perhaps the finest of all Schmeichel figures produced by Corinthian. Completing the set are the Laudrup brothers, Brian and Michael.

The figures were all on oval bases, with the most sought after ones being both Laudrup's and Schmeichel, with Nielsen also proving popular
