CELTIC

Celtic had more figures released as part of the SFL Collection than any of the other Scottish teams, 13 in total, well technically 14, but i will come to that.

All except 1 of these figures were first time sculpts, the exception being Alan Stubbs who was a repaint of the figure previously released for Bolton Wanderers as part of the FAPL Collection. John Collins got his first release, with the same figure being released a year later for Monaco as part of the Super Champions range.

The set featured 2 goalkeepers which was not something Corinthian did very often but due to who these 2 keepers were it would have been a tough choice to decide which one to release, so they released both, With Pat Bonner and Gordon Marshal making their one and only appearance as a Corinthian figure.

We saw the very first release of Tommy Boyd, who would also be released again for Celtic in the ProStars range. Temperamental forward Pierre Van Hooijdonk is my personal favourite from this set as it was a superb likeness of the player with a lot of fine detail and he really stood out from the rest.

Joining them are Paul McStay, Brian O'Neil, John Hughes, Andreas Thom, Phil O'Donnell, Simon Donnelly and Peter Grant.

2 of these figures were released wearing the same number shirt, those 2 were O'Donnell and Donnelly both were painted in the number 7 shirt but there is a legitimate reason for this. O'Donnell was released first in January 1996 during the 95/96 season, Donnelly was released in October 1996 during the 96/97 season, so although both were painted in the same kit, it was in fact from different seasons but Celtic wore the same kit for both the 95/96 and the 96/97 seasons.

Corinthian also re issued O'Donnell wearing his new number of 11, so for completists there are 2 versions of Phil O'Donnell to collect, number 7 and number 11. The single blister version of O'Donnell was released in January of 96, so that had him wearing the number 7 shirt as did 4 Pack A which was released in April. In October of that year Corinthian released a 4 pack (CT4C) which included O'Donnell and a 12 figure team pack, and it is in those multi packs that you can find the O'Donnell wearing number 11.

The Celtic figures were a very confusing release as some were done as blisters, some were not, some were in 4 packs and the team pack only, so below i have detailed each Celtic figure with their SP collector code and also included which packs they feature in.
