BRAZIL CLUB

In January of 1998, Corinthian released a set of 10 figures from the top domestic club sides in Brazil. The clubs chosen were-Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Gremio, Palmeiras, Santos, Sao Paulo. Each club had 1 figure released except for Flamengo which had 2 and Santos which had 3.

These figures were released in brazil by toy company 'Gulliver' and as a result proved very difficult to obtain for collectors in the UK.

Some Corinthian dealers did manage; through a lot of hard work i might add, to acquire some of these figures shortly after their release date but all were quickly snapped up and for a hefty price too.

Corinthian themselves did buy back some of the stock and subsequently sold it at conventions or through their official stockists, again the stock did not last to long as dealers and collectors alike scrambled to get their hands on these much sought after figures.

To this day the figures are still for the most part highly collectable largely due to the difficulty in obtaining them.

Without doubt the gem of the set is Denilson in the Sao Paulo kit, even today he commands a high price with a blister version on most people wanted lists! If you are lucky enough to stumble upon a blister version of Denilson you can pretty much put your own price on it, just have to locate one first and good luck doing that!

All in all this is a very good set of figures with some fantastic sculpts and highly detailed kit replications. The Cafu figure in particular was well sculpted as it captures the players personality perfectly and also featured a very interesting kit.
